New pictures of the Zenvo ST1 hypercar have been released. And look out Lamborghini and Ferrari because on first impressions this Danish beast has the potential to become the poster car for a generation of petrolheads.

As is the case with most supercar companies new to the game, Zenvo has gone with American firepower - a 7-litre Corvette ZO6 engine, supercharged and turbocharged to give 1,104bhp and 1,054lb/ft of pulling power.

In a car weighing less than 1.4 tons, this means a breathtaking 802bhp per ton - comparing favourably against esteemed supercars including the Bugatti Veyron (521bhp per ton), Gumpert Apollo (584bhp per ton) and Caparo T1 (922bhp per ton).

As a result Zenvo claims the ST1 accelerates from 0-62mph in 3 seconds and hits an electronically-limited (boo) top speed of 232mph. Power is channelled to its rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Zenvo hasn't played it safe design-wise either; this is a bona fide beast with a snarling front, huge bonnet vents and 20-inch rear wheels.

Zenvo has attempted to make the ST1 a more user-friendly dream machine too with dual-zone climate control, cruise control, CD player and a head-up display with this year's must-have - a G-force meter.

According to its website, Zenvo has set out to produce unique, hand-built supercars. On the basis of its design, the ST1 certainly falls into this bracket - only the Gumpert Apollo is more ludicrous looking. The ST1 will be launched next year with production limited to 15 models.
