Scirocco fans will soon be able to get their hands on the hottest Scirocco yet, with the order book now open. The R version packs a 265bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine - which is 15bhp more powerful than the last Volkswagen Golf R32.
Equipped with Volkswagen's Direct Shift Gearbox the Scirocoo R gets from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 155mph. A manual gearbox is also available.
It benefits from a sports-tuned chassis with an electronic transverse differential lock designed to maximise traction when cornering.
The Scirocco R comes on 18-inch alloy wheels with a 19-inch upgrade available - and enlarged 17-inch brakes for improved stopping power.
With a larger rear spoiler and wider air ducts at the front of the car, there's no mistaking the top-of-the-range Scirocco for one of its less powerful siblings.
