Volkswagen Scirocco: 370bhp stealth machine

Forget the forthcoming Volkswagen Scirocco R - if you want your 'Rocco with a side order of silliness, look no further than the MR Car Design Volkswagen Scirocco.

The German tuner has taken the car's standard 2-litre engine and raised power from 210bhp to a stratospheric 370bhp, with torque being boosted from 207lb/ft to a BMW M3-beating 382lb/ft.

It has achieved this by binning the standard turbo and replacing it with a bulked-up Stage 3 version, which joins a remapped ECU and custom-made exhaust and downpipe.

The 'Black Rocco' looks low enough to bother cats' eyes thanks to a set of KW coilover suspension. Reigning in the car's prodigious power are a set of Stoptech brakes.

Externally, the boys from MR have wrapped the stealthy Scirocco in matt black vinyl and screwed on a Reiger bodykit - complete with a diffuser that houses four tailpipes - and a set of black 20-inch rims with 30-section tyres.

MR hasn't announced how fast its creation will go, but the 261bhp Volkswagen Scirocco R will pass 62mph in six seconds before maxing out at a limited 155mph.

It's likely MR have removed the speed limiter, and assuming it can get its power down without melting the tyres or battling with the traction control, we'd expect a five-second 0-62mph.
