We love the Ford Mustang. It's a brutal-looking beast which stirs up memories of Bullit and Gone in 60 Seconds. But these aren't standard Mustangs; they're after-market modified models, and this is the 'Ultimate Bad Boy' – the latest muscle car to join the Stang Gang.
American Caroll Shelby took the AC Cobra stateside and now Brit Tim Porter is doing the opposite. It's taken Tim two years to create the UBB Mustang, with a modified version of the Ford GT's 5.4-litre supercar engine.
The supercharged lump now produces 1,000bhp and 850lb/ft of pulling power, putting it on a par with the Bugatti Veyron. As a result it will accelerate from 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, cover the quarter mile in 9.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 220mph.
But if, somehow, 1,000bhp is so last year then don't fret – UBB is planning a 1,110bhp model for November using a new all-alloy 6-litre Ford engine.
The car is designed by Brits but manufactured in California, with the first model arriving in the UK towards the end of August. It comes as left-hand drive as standard or you can spec it to be right-hand drive for a £5,000 premium.
Standard prices in $US start from:
• UBB350: $36,996
• UBB500: $59,995
• UBB700: $72,995
• UBB1000: $110,000
