Nissan has announced its latest model - the Nissan Juke - will go on sale from October 2010. The Juke will fit between the Nissan Note and Nissan Qashqai in its model range and be manufactured in Sunderland.
It takes inspiration from the Qazana concept car which premiered at 2009's Geneva Motor Show, and this is the first time the production car's official name has been revealed.
Designed to give customers an alternative to the conventional small hatchback, Nissan hopes the Juke will win them new customers across Europe - as the Qashqai did.
Nissan wants the Juke to provide the dynamic handling of a small car, with the benefits of four-wheel drive and a raised seating position - but not the boxy shape of an SUV.
From its first teaser pic it's clear the Juke has a bold design, with overtly styled wheel arches, raked C-pillars and an unconventional nose.
Large driving lamps sit either side of the grille and Nissan badge, while light clusters stretch back on either side of the bonnet.
