Tuned 625bhp X5 outguns Ferrari

Watch out Sloanies: the original 'Chelsea Tractor' has just been down the gym for a serious workout. The BMW X5 has been beaten by mad tuners G-Power to create a beast of unimaginable fury and firepower.

G-Power has strapped an almighty supercharger to the X5, turned up the boost and stuck a price tag on the windscreen to create this – the G-Power X5 Typhoon RS.

It comes with all the usual trappings of a tuned-SUV: a vulgar, disproportionately-styled bodykit, huge kerb-sniffing alloy wheels with bone-shatteringly low-profile tyres, more vents and fins than a Jaws movie, and lovely decals to help identify it as 'special'.

Oh – and let's not forget the tuned 4.8-litre V8 lump up front generating a frankly ludicrous 625bhp.

Yes. 625bhp. More power than a Ferrari F430. More power than an Audi RS6. More power than BMW's own X5M. It's even got more power than a Pagani Zonda F – a £600,000 supercar.

It'll do the fabled 0-62mph dash in just 4.5 seconds, 0-124mph in 16 seconds and will top out at 177mph, thanks to that monster supercharger, which is also used on the Alpina B6 GT3 racing car. Yes, you read it right – a racing supercharger strapped onto a two-tonne suburban SUV.
