Champion golfer Tiger Woods delayed police questions over his mysterious early hours car crash for a third day as he stressed the incident was "all his fault".
Florida State Troopers went to speak to the billionaire sportsman at his home yesterday but were told by the golfer's lawyer that he was unavailable.
"Mr Woods' attorney provided the troopers with Mr Woods' driver's licence information, registration and current proof of insurance as required by Florida law. The crash investigation is ongoing and charges are pending," Florida Highway Patrol said.
Officers have been trying since Friday to quiz the world number one about how he came to crash his car into a fire hydrant and tree outside his luxury home in Isleworth, Florida.
A bloodied Woods, 33, was found in the early hours of that day lying in the road with wife Elin Nordegren, who police said used a golf club to smash out the back window and help get the golfer out.
The incident came amid rumours about the star's private life and prompted worldwide speculation about how he came to crash at such an early hour near his own home.
Woods released a statement on his website yesterday saying: "Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumours that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. The only person responsible for the accident is me.
