The Ford Fiesta S1600 special edition has just been announced, but before fast Ford fans get too excited, the S1600's modifications are more concerned with show than go.

Based on the Fiesta Zetec-S, the S1600 uses the familiar 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engines, with 118bhp and 94bhp respectively. Performance upgrades are available through Ford's tuning partner, Mountune.

On the outside, a unique front bumper, deeper side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser are finished in a choice of either white or blue, with contrasting stripes along the bonnet and roof. Petrol-powered S1600s are fitted with white 17-inch alloys, while diesels feature 16-inch rims.

On top of the Zetec-S' standard kit, the special edition adds heated leather seats, side airbags, a leather steering wheel and 'Motorsport' branded floor mats and kick plates.

Just 650 will be built, priced from £16,665 on the road, a £1,000 increase over the Zetec-S.
