The Renaultsport Clio 200 is the latest model to be launched as a Gordini edition, costing from £19,650 and paying homage to Renault's most famous racing car designer.
For the fully authentic Gordini look, there's a distinctive blue paintjob with white racing stripes. But, Renault also offers black with white stripes and white with anthracite stripes. Or, for a more subtle effect, the stripes can be left off altogether.
Purely a styling pack, Renaultsport's engineers have left the highly-tuned 200bhp 2-litre engine alone. The exterior tweaks add up to a new front bumper with a Formula 1 inspired 'blade', white door mirrors, Gordini badging and 17-inch alloy wheels with a polished face and black inner rim.
Inside, the badging extends to the leather seats with blue detailing, gearlever gaiter and gearknob. A rally-style steering wheel is finished in grey leather with blue trim and white centre stripes.
The rev counter is white and a gloss black centre console, fascia inserts and air vent surrounds finish the look. Gadgets include climate control, auto headlights and wipers, cruiser control with speed limiter, cornering lights, radio and CD-player with Bluetooth connectivity, USB connection, heated and folding electric door mirrors, hands free intelligent key with start and stop button and tinted rear windows.
Optional extras include wheels with a blue inner rim (£100), a lower and stiffer Cup chassis with red painted finish to the Brembo brakes and a more direct steering rack (£410), Tom Tom dash-mounted sat-nav (£460), rear parking sensors (£310) and an electric panoramic sunroof (£615).
Only 500 Renaultsport Clio 200 Gordini editions will be built; deliveries start in July.
