All 11,300 Porsche Panameras are being recalled to fix a potential front seatbelt issue. When the front seats are adjusted into an "extreme position" - believed to be as far forward as possible - there is a risk of the seat belt mount becoming detached. This could pose an obvious risk in the event of an accident.
While Porsche US have informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there haven't been any reports of injury caused by the problem at this time.
If you a Porsche Panamera owner, the advice is not to use the extreme forward position of the front seats and visit your local dealership, which will fit an additional locking element to the seat belt anchor on both front seats. The procedure will take around 15 minutes.
This latest recall comes in the light of a series of highly-publicised safety concerns, most noticeably for Toyota and Lexus.
