Two new editions of the Peugeot 3008 crossover have been announced, one a special edition while the other is a permanent addition to the range.
The limited-edition Envy is based on the 3008 Sport, but is effectively an Exclusive model at a lower price. Envy buyers get privacy glass, a panoramic glass sunroof, exterior detailing and a head-up display which projects information on the windscreen.
However, while the Exclusive is £1,400 more expensive than a Sport with the same engine, the Envy carries a premium of just £600. Available with 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engines, the 3008 Envy costs £18,895 or £20,495 respectively.
Peugeot has also added an SR to the 3008 range, to sit between the mid-range Sport and the range-topping Exclusive.
Aimed mainly at fleet buyers, the SR is also based on the Sport, but comes with extra equipment that includes 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and sat-nav. For extra traction, it also packs Grip Control along with mud and snow tyres.
Reflecting the fact that the SR will appeal largely to company car drivers, it will be offered with a 1.6-litre diesel engine only. There's a choice of six-speed manual or automated manual gearboxes, at £20,645 or £21,195.
The automated manual transmission, called EGC by Peugeot, drops CO2 emissions from 135g/km to just 129g/km. It also cuts the top speed from 112mph to 110mph and slows 0-62mph acceleration from 13.6 to 14 seconds.
