Two new compact SUVs are on their way to the UK, thanks to an alliance between Mitsubishi and the PSA Peugeot Citroen group.
The small off-roaders will be available in two- and four-wheel drive variants, and will be based on the existing Mitsubishi ASX platform, which is due to go on sale here soon.
Several versions will be powered by Peugeot and Citroen's 1.6-litre HDi diesel engine, and the most economical front-wheel drive model should emit just 123g/km of CO2.
In the UK, the Peugeot and Citroen variants will be available in early 2012. It's not yet known what names will be given to Peugeot and Citroen's models, but they will feature subtly different exterior and interior designs in keeping with their respective brand identities.
It's not the first time the three carmakers have worked together on a project. The Mitsubishi Outlander, Peugeot 4007 and Citroen C-Crosser were the product of a similar partnership.
And, the electric Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero - which are based on the Mitsubishi iMiEV - are being launched soon.
The trio have also constructed a shared factory in Russia.
