The Audi A1 is now available to order, with prices starting at £13,145. Audi's smallest car to date is expected to arrive in showrooms towards the end of 2010.

The A1 will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, developing 86bhp, emitting 118g/km and returning 55.4mpg. A 122bhp 1.4 petrol unit will also be available, with a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes.

Diesel buyers are served by a 105bhp 1.6-litre unit, which can return 70.6mpg while emitting 105g/km of CO2.

All models will feature alloy wheels, remote central locking, air-con, electric mirrors and front windows and a six-speaker audio system with Ipod connectivity which is linked to a 6.5-inch pop-up display. ESP with a grip-improving electronic differential is available as standard with all engine choices.
