The new Renault Twingo is available to order now. Powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, it has a combined fuel economy of 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 119g/km, meaning zero road tax in the first year and £30 per year thereafter.
The Twingo is the first car to show off Renault's new design theme, which was first showcased on the DeZir concept car in 2010, and will be seen on the forthcoming Renault Clio.
It features a new grille design and more prominent side lights. The bumpers, tailgate and rear lights have also been revised for the new model.
Two bold new colours - Fuchsia and Bermuda Blue - have been added to the range, bringing the number of colour options up to nine. Eight different alloy wheel designs are available and the Twingo will come with the option of an electric fabric sunroof from April.
Inside, there are new seat patterns with contrasting red stitching. Cruise control and a speed limiter are fitted as standard (a first in the city car class) and a new stereo system incorporating Bluetooth and USB connectivity also features.
Available optional extras include climate control and an electric panoramic sunroof. Renault is also providing a number of decals and other customisation options, in the style of the Mini and Fiat 500. With a number of choices, including roof stickers and a Renaultsport rear spoiler, owners can individualise their car to their own taste.
Renault has announced that a sporty Renaultsport 133 edition is to be launched in April. It is expected to keep the 133bhp 1.6-litre engine of the current model, though details have yet to be confirmed.
Buy a Twingo in January and you will be eligible for the Renault4+ programme, worth £900. Essentially a care package, it includes a four-year/100,000-mile warranty, four years/48,000 miles' free servicing and four years' roadside assistance and finance.
The Renault Twingo is available now, with a high-spec Dynamique 1.2 priced from £10,350 on the road.
