A new-look Peugeot 308 arrives in showrooms in May, which will be offered with a 1.6HDi diesel engine emitting just 98g/km of CO2.

It's the adoption of stop and start in combination with Peugeot's ultra-economical 1.6-litre HDi engine that makes it so efficient.

Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or sequential auto gearbox, the latter producing a car which Peugeot claims is greener than any of its rivals.

The most noticeable change though is the adoption of a revised nose with LED daytime running lights.

Equipment levels have been boosted too, with all cars getting electronic stability programme, air-con, electric windows all round and remote central locking.

The 308CC (coupe-cabriolet), hatchback and SW (estate) all receive the revisions, and there will be a choice of four trim levels, including Access, SR, Active and Allure. Prices start at £15,245.
