These are the first details and pictures of the revised Nissan X-Trail, which goes on sale in October. The new X-Trail is 10mm longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model and features new exterior styling and a plusher interior.
The new-look is characterised by a redesigned grille, sleeker headlights and bumpers, as well as LED taillights for what Nissan call "a wider track and more solid stance". Higher spec versions now ride on 18-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, Nissan has incorporated higher quality materials for a more premium feel and to improve its competitiveness with rivals like the Land Rover Freelander, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.
New features include an improved heating system and a clever new glovebox, which can either keep its contents warm or cold.
Rear-seat passengers receive 10mm more legroom and optional heated seats.
Under the X-Trail's bonnet, the diesel engine now complies with the latest European emissions standards, while the manual gearbox gets revised ratios for better performance and improved efficiency. A gearshift indicator - which informs the driver which gear is most suitable for maximum economy - is also fitted.
Deliveries of the revised Nissan X-Trail will start in October. Prices will be announced closer to that date.
