Kia has released first pictures and details of its third-generation Sportage crossover SUV, ahead of its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The 2011 Kia Sportage has been lowered and widened, with more space inside and a longer wheelbase.
Kia previously confirmed a new 2-litre diesel engine would be built in 2010 - it's likely this will be available in the new Sportage.
Managing director of Kia Motors UK Michael Cole said: "The all-new Sportage will make people sit up and take notice just as the original did. I am convinced it will begin a remarkable new chapter in the Kia story."
Kia also says the new Sportage is a "fresh, bold, athletic and sporty design that blends the key features of an SUV in a sleek and urban-friendly design."
Prices have yet to be revealed, but buyers can expect a slight increase over the current price bracket of £15,210 to £20,320.
The Kia Sportage is likely to go on sale in October. It will make its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2.
