These are the first details and pictures of the new Bentley Continental GT, which have been revealed ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 30.
The Bentley Continental GT was launched in 2003 and brought a younger breed of customer to the famous British car maker.
On the outside the Continental gets re-profiled aluminium front wings and new headlamps. The tail lights now have revised oval shapes that look similar to those used on the just-launched Bentley Mulsanne four-door saloon.
Inside the car has a revised dashboard, upgraded information and sound systems and changes to the trim materials. Redesigned seats make the rear more spacious than before.
The Continental's 6-litre, 12-cylinder turbocharged engine has been upgraded too, and powers the car to a top speed of 198mph. The Continental GT can sprint from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds.
Late next year this engine will be joined by an all-new, eight-cylinder power unit. Few details have been released but Bentley claims this smaller engine will produce 40 per cent less exhaust emissions than the current six litre.
Prices for the latest Bentley Continentals will be announced later this month.
