Moving Motor Show Interview: Lord March

There is a layer of 'life is for living' about Lord March of Goodwood. You assume there would be from a man that, year on year, delivers the Goodwood Festival of Speed that enables racing drivers to perform burnouts on his driveway or trail riders to wheelie through his home.

This year, with the support of Auto Trader, Lord March is also doing his bit for Britain by re-invigorating the traditional motor show as we know it. The Moving Motor Show presented by Auto Trader is a thoroughly modern event where cars don't just sit in isolated exhibition spaces but rumble, move and can even be driven.

We managed to grab a few precious minutes with 'LM' as his staff know him, to talk about the MMS preparations not to mention his classic AC.

When his daily drivers consist of an Audi RS6, Rolls-Royce Ghost and Porsche Panamera, it's only proper that he should have some classics in his collection. As you'll see from the video, this particular car holds some significance to the March family.

And as for LM himself? Well, he's a massive petrolhead that answers your questions with so little guile. Sure, we may not have two golf courses in our back garden or a couple of Stubbs paintings in the living room but we can relate to that. For him, as for most of us, cars will always float above the traditional bric-a-brac that everyday life seems to accumulate.

For that reason, I'd describe his vibe as comfortably convivial rather than starchily posh. Which is Goodwood all over really…
