More details on the new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupé Black Series - the most powerful C-Class ever - have been revealed.
The Black Series, which premiered during the German Grand Prix, is powered by a 6.3-litre V8 engine and boasts 510bhp and 457Ib/ft pulling power.
Preliminary data indicates it will cover 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds. The C63 AMG is the fourth Black Series from Mercedes since the exclusive line was launched five years ago.
The Black Series sits on specially forged wheels weighing 11kg less than the conventional set and the body and interior feature exclusive design touches.
These include air intakes in the front apron, two bonnet openings, larger front and rear wings due to the increased track width as well as rear apron and black diffuser.
There's only room for two inside - courtesy of a pair of AMG bucket seats - with Mercedes dispensing with the rear bench.
The Black Series can be specified with one of two packages:
• The AMG Track Package comprises 255/35 R19 front and 285/30 R19 rear sports tyres from Dunlop. They have been exclusively developed for the C 63 AMG Coupé Black Series. Active rear-axle transmission cooling improves performance in race-track conditions.
• The AMG Aerodynamics package includes functionally tuned carbon fibre front splitter and a fixed carbon-fibre rear aerofoil with an adjustable blade.
Optional extras include keyless go, tinted side windows and one option buyers will be hoping they don't get to use - a fire extinguisher.
UK pricing and specification will be announced shortly. Deliveries will start early in 2012.
