The Mini Countryman has made its UK public debut at the 2010 Canary Wharf London Motorexpo. The Countryman is the first four-door, four-wheel drive Mini and it arrives this September.
The model range will be familiar to current Mini owners, with One, Cooper and Cooper S versions on offer. Two diesel and three petrol engines will be available from launch. The range spans the 90bhp Countryman One D diesel, right up to the turbocharged, 184bhp Cooper S.
Now in its 15th year, the London Motorexpo is free and gives the opportunity to get close to the new cars of 2010. This year a number of high-profile debuts including the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, BMW 320d Efficent Dynamics, Jaguar XKR with Speedpack, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet and gull-winged SLS AMG, Mazda MX-5 Superlight concept, Mini Countryman, Saab 9-5, Skoda Superb Estate and Volvo S60.
Motorexpo CEO Graeme Carver said; "The Canary Wharf London Motorexpo is a unique and free opportunity for everyone to see the latest vehicles many of the world's leading motor manufacturers have to offer.
"Over the past 15 years, as the Canary Wharf estate has grown so to the Motorexpo has seen its audience figures continually rise and it is estimated that some 400,000 visitors will enjoy our exhibitors displays at this summer's event."
The Land Rover Driving Experience has decamped onto Bank Street for the week, offering visitors a chance to drive its range of vehicles on a specially built mini off-roading assault course. The 2010 Canary Wharf London Motorexpo takes place between June 7 and 13.
