These are the first pictures and details of the all-electric Mercedes SLS AMG E-cell concept. The four-wheel drive SLS E-Cell is powered by four electric motors, each producing 12,000rpm. This means it has a total power output of 526bhp, 649lb/ft of torque and can sprint from 0-62mph in four seconds flat.
The lithium polymer batteries are divided between the centre tunnel and a box immediately behind the cockpit.
The concept benefits from AMG Lumilectric Mango yellow paintwork, an extendable front spoiler and a new rear diffuser for added downforce, while the standard car's double-wishbone suspension has been replaced with multi-link front suspension with push-rod dampers
Reports suggest the Mercedes SLS AMG E-cell will go on sale in 2013.
