The Mercedes G-Class will return to UK roads this Autumn, following a ten-year absence. The exclusive SUV has up until now only been available to import in left-hand drive, but buyers will soon be able to choose between the 221bhp G350 CDI which returns 25.7 mpg, and the top-of-the-range G55 AMG Kompressor, which produces 500bhp and hits 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds.
Both models come fitted with climate control, automatic transmission with high and low gear ratios, heated memory seats, bi-xenon headlamps, full leather upholstery, a reverse parking aid and a Harman Kardon Logic 7 Sound system as standard.
Prices start at £79,975 for the diesel, whilst the range topping AMG will set you back a mammoth £114,975. To emphasise its exclusivity, the G Class will be hand built and will be sold exclusively at Mercedes World's Specialist Products Division at Brooklands.
Mercedes has sold 200,000 units worldwide since the model was first introduced in 1979. The G-Wagen has proved persistently popular in the UK despite only being available as an import and its hefty price tag.
