We absolutely adore Lego cars. Earlier this year we brought you the creative genius that is Firas Abu-Jaber - a man who loves the little bricks so much, he decided to build miniature supercars out of them.
His Lego Lamborghini Gallardo was painstakingly crafted using more than 1,000 bricks - and looks fantastic.
So we were delighted when we found out that BMW had commissioned 800 kids aged between 8 and 13 to build a life-size replica of its new X1 SUV…totally out of Lego. The finished piece measures 4.5 metres long and was built using around 165,000 bricks.
BMW commissioned the Lego X1 to raise money for disadvantaged kids. The company plans to donate money for every Lego brick used in the model, which will be showcased at 'BMW World' in Munich from next week.
And you have to admit, the finished piece looks pretty cool. But here at Auto Trader we've only got one question. Was yellow really the only colour they could find?
