Lexus has announced prices and specification details for its new CT 200h hatchback, starting from £23,485.

The Lexus CT200h - which rivals the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series - will be available in SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier versions, with the range-topping CT 200h SE-L Premier costing £30,635.

CT200h exterior design highlights include the distinctive LED headlights at the front and the wraparound screen at the back.

Inside the CT200h there's a double-level centre console, with gearshifts taken care of by a chrome-topped lozenge-shaped selector.

CT200h standard equipment includes a choice of 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, eight airbags, rain-sensing wipers and a CD/radio audio system and USB port.

The CT200h is the first model in the luxury compact class to be fitted with a full hybrid powertrain; it's driven by a combination of a 1.8-litre petrol and electric motors working together. Due to its fuel efficiency, plus the 94g/km emissions it earns a Band A rating and as such will cost nothing to tax.
