Kia has issued a recall for a small number of 2009-10 Sorento and Soul models to correct a door wiring fault that could lead to a fire.
Only cars fitted with mood lighting - which is offered as an optional extra - are affected by the wiring loom fault.
Kia is issuing recall notices for 476 Sorento KX-3 models and 73 Soul hatchbacks. The work takes about one hour, and will be undertaken at Kia dealers. Customers will not be charged.
The recall affects models built between March 2009 and June of this year. A company spokesman said the likelihood of one of its cars suffering a wiring fire was very small.
Since 2007 Kia has massively increased sales thanks to a mix of aggressive pricing, long warranties and a well-regarded range of vehicles.
