Bentley Motors has teamed up with London's Royal College of Art (RCA) to design the coupe of the future.

Eighteen Vehicle Design Masters students have been developing a range of futuristic proposals with Bentley's lead designers, including Raul Pires, creator of the upcoming Bentley Mulsanne.

Each of the young designers has created a unique, eye-catching interpretation of the classic Bentley look. But with an eye to the future, the students have also recognised the need for a return to the famous manufacturer's streamlined past in a bid to improve efficiency.

"Working with Bentley has inspired these young designers to create a coupe for the 21st Century that embraces the latest aerodynamics technology," said Professor Dale Harrow, Head of Vehicle Design at the RCA. "It has been fascinating to see them make a connection with a British marque that has such a distinguished heritage."

Each design has undergone extensive testing in a virtual wind tunnel to make sure that as well as looking great, they would work in real-world conditions.

Bora Kim, David Seesing, Marten Wallgren and Mikka Heikkinen are the four shortlisted designers. Two will be given the opportunity to work alongside Bentley's design team in Crewe for six months.

Check out the gallery of all the entries below. You never know, one of these young talents may well design your next car.
