The Infiniti G Series has been upgraded for 2011, with more standard equipment and an automatic transmission with paddle shifts for all models.

Offered in saloon, coupe and convertible forms, the G 37 is offered in 315bhp 3.7-litre V6 petrol form only and rivals small executives such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.

Starting at £33,508, the G 37 saloon comes in standard, x GT, x GT Premium and S Premium forms, with x denoting four-wheel drive - all other models have rear-wheel drive.

Even the entry-level car has xenon lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and electrically adjustable front seats, while posher editions get heated seats, intelligent cruise control and premium sound system.

The G 37 Coupe comes in GT, S and S Premium forms, starting at £36,319 and all featuring rear-wheel drive. Again, there are 18-inch alloys as standard along with scratch-resistant paint.

Most expensive of all the G 37s is the Convertible, offered only in GT Premium form at £45,185. This four-seater coupe-cabriolet can manage 155mph and features 19-inch alloys as standard.

The revised G 37 is already on sale, although there are currently just four Infiniti dealerships in the UK - Glasgow, Birmingham Piccadilly and Reading. The aim is to increase this tally to 11 by the end of the year.
