Hyundai has announced prices and specification details for its new ix20 hatchback, starting from £11,595 for the 1.4 Classic petrol.

The Hyundai ix20 - which rivals the Citroen C3 Picasso, Kia Venga and Vauxhall Meriva - will be available in Classic, Active and Style versions, with the range-topping 1.6-litre Style petrol auto costing £15,095.

The ix20 shares its tall shape and short dimensions with its sister car, the Kia Venga. The ix20 is set apart thanks to its distinctive rippling headlights and sleek front styling.

ix20 standard equipment includes a height adjustable driver's seat, ESP, air-con, six airbags, active head restraints and a CD/radio audio system with six speakers and iPod compatability.

The ix20 is available with 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines, plus a 1.6-litre with automatic transmission.
