Give a 10-year old a £300,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren to play with and this would probably be the result.

A bright yellow modified monster with an enormous rear spoiler seemingly designed to make Max Power readers light-headed.

The Hamann Volcano is a modified Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - yes, the 626bhp supercharged V8 beast which is one of the world's fastest supercars.

German tuner Hamann, famous for modding BMWs, has tastefully decked out the McMerc in what we like to call 'Premiership-spec' colours. Which means it wouldn't look out of place in Alderley Edge…

Sporting a bright yellow - and red, if you want - paintjob with matching interior, the Hamann Volcano doesn't so much scream brash, as ram it down your throat.

Helpfully, the German tuner has beefed up the supercharged 5.4-litre V8 engine to help you flee from the inevitable ridicule of driving, ostensibly, a bright yellow 'appendage'.

By tweaking the engine's ECU, fitting a specially developed high performance exhaust manifold and adjusting the superchargers gubbins, Hamann has eked out another 74bhp, meaning the Volcano now sprints from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and hits a top speed of 211mph.

Admittedly, it's not the worst modified SLR we've seen. No, that distinctive honour goes to Premiership footballer El Hadji Diouf and his chrome Merc. Yes, chrome.
