Full specifications for the new Mini Countryman have been released; it's the first five-door Mini and also the first to feature four-wheel drive.
The model range will be familiar to current Mini owners, with One, Cooper and Cooper S versions on offer. Two diesel and three petrol engines will be available from launch. The range spans the 90bhp Countryman One D diesel, right up to the turbocharged, 184bhp Cooper S.
The top Cooper S and the 112bhp Cooper D will be offered with optional four-wheel drive, called ALL4. Power is usually split equally between the front and rear wheels but as much as 100 per cent can be sent to the rear wheels if needed.
All models feature stop and start technology, brake energy regeneration and a gearshift indicator to ensure that the Countryman upholds Mini's reputation for making highly fuel-efficient cars. Even the Cooper S returns 46.3mpg, while the One D can average 65.7mpg.
A whole range of colours, trims and accessories will mean that the Countryman is as customisable as every other Mini. The metal rail which runs through the middle of the cabin allows clip-on accessories for things like mobile phones, storage boxes and cup holders for all passengers.
