Porsche 911 owners can book their car in for a free health check at their local dealer next month.

The Porsche 911 Service Clinics take place on October 16 at official Porsche dealers across the country, and allow owners to accompany a technician as their car is given an inspection.

Porsche says the event is in celebration of the model's "tenacity" and the fact three-quarters of all Porsches ever sold are still on the road.

In celebration of the 911 range and for customers to learn more about their model's heritage and technical highlights, each Porsche Centre will feature a 911 display, provide four-wheel alignment demonstrations and invite visitors to enter a draw to win scale models of the Porsche 901 - the original 911.

The checks are on a first come, first served basis, and owners should contact their local dealer, or call 08457 911 911 to find out more.

The Porsche 911 Service Clinic follows the highly successful Boxster Service Clinic held earlier in the year, which serviced over 440 Boxsters in one day.
