Joining the Ford Evos Concept is the Ford Fiesta ST Concept. But while the Evos will never be built as a production car, the Fiesta will - and it promises to be a scorcher.
It embodies some of the styling that has been previewed in the Evos, such as the high grille and more intricate headlights, but it's the performance that will excite.
Under the bonnet sits a tuned version of Ford's 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine, which should make for a 0-62mph time of around seven seconds and a top speed close to 140mph.
As well as being the fastest Fiesta available, the ST will also be cheap to run. Ford's engineers are targeting emissions below 140g/km and say fuel consumption will be improved.
The ST will also be the first of current Fiestas to feature a six-speed gearbox which will help the car achieve a more relaxed and efficient cruising speed.
Much of the exterior is unchanged from the standard Zetec-S, but a new front bumper with a higher grille and stylish headlights are fitted. It also shows hints of Ford's new family face previewed on the Evos. The interior has largely been blanked out as it's a pre-production model, but it is fitted with sports seats.
You can't buy one yet, but the production car should be previewed in about a year's time.
