Ford Fiesta S2000 rally raider: 280bhp thunderball

These are the first pictures of the wildest Ford Fiesta yet - a 280bhp, four-wheel drive mean machine. But sadly for fast Ford fans, the Ford Fiesta S2000 rally car won't be coming to a high street near you - it's been built for the Intercontinental Rally Challenge where it'll make its public debut as a course car at this weekend's IRC Rally of Scotland.

The creation of M-Sport - the team that'd built every Ford WRC car since 1997 - is a beast, with its pumped-up bodykit hiding a four-wheel drive system and a 2-litre engine packing 280bhp.

It's a far cry from the standard Ford Fiesta, which is a brilliant car, but even with the Mountune pack lacks the grunt to make it a scorcher.

M-Sport says the experience gained from developing the Ford Focus RS WRC has been used to develop the S2000 while working within new rally regulations meaning it can be used at national and international levels.

Following hot on the heels of M-Sport's two-wheel drive Fiesta R2, the S2000 has some strong heritage. M-Sport built the iconic Ford Escort Cosworth rally car in the 1990s, and have constructed the Focus RS WRC and Fiesta ST rally cars which have been successfully campaigned around the world.
