Fenix Automotive has released pictures of its new supercar. The unnamed two-seater will feature a Chevrolet Corvette-sourced 6.2-litre 480bhp LS3 V8 engine, with the option of a 638bhp supercharged LS9 V8.
Official performance figures have yet to be confirmed, but with a 1200kg target kerb weight, expect the base model to accelerate from 0-60mph in around four seconds, and the supercharged version in less than 3.5 seconds. Top speed should be at least 200mph.
The Fenix Automotive supercar has been designed by Lee Noble - creator of the Noble M12 and Ultima GTR. He has since launched Fenix Automotive, with plans to launch its first supercar in the second half of 2010. Only 100 will be built.
Lee Noble said: "The M12 was hugely successful, but we needed to move the game on in terms of design. The new car's styling owes nothing to what I've done before and has quite literally been a 'clean sheet' exercise from the start. It's edgy, with powerful lines, and aerodynamically will be in another league to any of my previous cars."
The Fenix Automotive supercar will go on sale later in the year for around £70,000. The supercharged version will cost less than £100,000.
Development is set to start in February, where hot-weather testing will take place in the mountain roads around Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
