The fastest production Jaguar XKR yet is set to be revealed at the Geneva motor show on March 2. The Jaguar XKR will be able to top 174mph thanks to a new, optional 'Speed Pack' which improves aerodynamics, allowing the standard car's 155mph electronic speed limited to be relaxed.

The £3,500 option brings with it the fitment of Jaguar's Active Differential Control, which helps to improve traction at low speeds and stability at very high speeds.

Offered only on the coupe - there will be no convertible edition - the XKR Speed Pack also adds a new design of 20-inch alloy wheels and a unique range of colour choices, along with piano black inserts for the dash.

Customers who specify the Speed Pack can also spend an extra £500 on a Black Pack, which brings a gloss black finish to the wheels, grille and window surrounds. Despite the name, cars with this option will be available in black, red or white finishes.

As well as these new option packs, Jaguar has tweaked the standard XKR and XK. All now have red brake callipers, while the spare wheel has been replaced by a tyre repair kit. This frees up space in the 30-litre spare wheel well, into which a tailored suitcase can be fitted.

The standard XKR coupe weighs in at £74,955, which means a car ordered with both Speed and Black packs will set its owner back a hefty £78,955. Prices for the rest of the revised XK range start at £61,955 for the coupe and rise to £80,955 for the XKR convertible.
