Chevrolet has unveiled a large family model based on the same electric platform as its Volt. Like the standard Volt, the MPV5 version features a 1.4-litre engine, which acts as a battery generator to increase the vehicle's range.
In optimal conditions the Volt MPV5 can drive 300 miles, before it needs recharging. The Volt MPV5, currently on display at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show, has more interior space than the standard Volt. It can seat five in comfort and places greater emphasis on cabin flexibility.
For maximum load space, the rear seats can be folded forwards, liberating 1,764 litres of space. There are dual skylight roof panels, two-tone leather seats and a style of central console and instrument gauges similar to those found in the Volt.
Aerodynamic features give the exterior an individual style, with a closed front grille, flat underside and creased tail lights, all of which help the car slip through the air as efficiently as possible.
