Chromed Lamborghini snapped

Oh dear - another week, another poor supercar suffers at the hands of merciless chrome fetishists. Yes folks, we've spotted this chrome Lamborghini Murcielago spider snapped in an undisclosed location (looks like London?).

No other information is present, apart from reports that the garish garnish is actually the work of 'adhesive foil wrap with a chrome finish'. Which means - we think at least - the original Lambo paint exists somewhere underneath.

We also hope the dark heart of the Lamborghini Murcielago remains too, because there really is no point in modifying a 6.5-litre V12 engine developing 640bhp and 487lb/ft of pulling power.

These other-worldly stats equate to tyre-shredding times: 0-62mph takes just 3.4 seconds and on a clean stretch of road, the Lambo will hit 211mph.

Now we're all fans of modifying cars - tastefully. Take the Revo-tuned Seat Leon Cupra R, or the GGR-tuned Ford Focus RS - perfectly acceptable motors which push the limits just a little bit more.

We're also partial to the Edo Competition Ferrari or a Heffner-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo. Again, nicely modified cars which stick their heads above the crowd.

But we're just not sure about covering a £200,000 drop-top supercar in chrome. The Murcielago is already an outlandish machine…

Whoever this chap is, he's not the first to chrome a supercar. Click on the image gallery to view the 'usual suspects'.
