The Audi A7 Sportback has been unveiled. Slotting between the A6 and A8 saloons, the A7 offers the luxury of its bigger brother, with a more dynamic look and feel.

Prices will range from £42,925 for the entry-level, front-wheel drive 201bhp 3-litre TDI and rise to £47,140 for the 296bhp 3-litre T Quattro supercharged petrol with four-wheel drive.

Two petrol engines of 2.8 and 3-litres deliver 201 and 296bhp respectively, while returning 35.3 and 34.5mpg. The larger engine car accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds.

The diesels are both 3-litre units with a choice of 201 and 242bhp. Both offer exceptional fuel economy (53.3 and 47.1mpg) as well as CO2 emissions from just 139g/km.

Thanks to its length, there's plentiful legroom space for adult rear seat passengers too. Despite being billed as a four-seat coupe, there are seatbelts for three in the back.

New Audi technology featured in the car includes a Head Up Display - projecting information onto the windscreen - LED headlights and optional Google Maps sat-nav.

SE and S line trim levels will be offered in the UK, both of which will be fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, xenon headlights, power tailgate, leather heated interior, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, sat-nav and digital radio as standard.

The Audi A7 Sportback will arrive in the UK in January 2011, and it was also revealed an all-new Audi A6 will be launched early next year.
