The Aston Martin Rapide will go on sale at the beginning of next year, with a starting price of £139,950. The standard specification car will include a Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.
As expected, the price is almost twice as much as that of other luxury saloons, such as the £72,269 Porsche Panamera and £78,553 Maserati Quattroporte.
Aston Martin has not yet confirmed the price or details for higher-specification models. The Rapide is Aston's first saloon since the Lagonda, which ceased production in 1991.
It expects to build 2,000 Rapides in the first year of production; this will be the first Aston Martin built is Graz, Austria, instead of its Gaydon plant in Oxfordshire.
