This is how Top Gear should have crossed the English Channel - with a whopping great supercharged V8. California-based WaterCar has built the Python - a vehicle capable of covering both land and sea.
The 1.7-tonne soft top sports a range of Corvette V8 engines right up to the range-topping 6.2-litre supercharged monster boasting 640bhp.
And despite the near two-tonne weight of the convertible speedboat-car, WaterCar comfortably predicts the Python to hit 62mph from standstill in just 4.5 seconds - as quick as a BMW M3 - and complete the quarter-mile benchmark in 12.5 seconds (on land).
Top speeds? On land the Python will hit 100mph and you can give your wig - and chest wig - a thoroughly good workout on water at speeds of up to 60mph.
WaterCar reckons the change from car to Miami Vice-style speedboat is instant, with the driver simply engaging the jet and pressing a single button to raise the wheels.
And don't think this is your regular car-which-turns-into-a-speedboat - the company allows customers to completely customise their, ahem, Python, right down to the exact placement of the seats and pedals, while offering more than 60,000 exterior and 4,000 interior colours.
Prices for a Python start from around $200,000 - around £125,000. Don't forget to budget a little more for a hairpiece, gold medallion chain, pastel-coloured suit with rolled-up sleeves, deck shoes and a pair of aviator sunglasses. A CD of Duran Duran is probably a good idea too…
