These are the first official details and pictures of the all-new larger, more efficient and economical Suzuki Swift.
The third-generation Swift is longer, wider and taller than before, but Suzuki promises that the use of higher strength steel means it is lighter and stiffer than the outgoing model.
Just one engine will be available from launch. A new 93bhp 1.2-litre petrol unit will be capable of returning 56.5mpg and emitting just 116g/km of CO2 - a 7.8mpg and 24g/km (17 per cent) improvement on the outgoing 1.3-litre unit it replaces. An optional automatic transmission will also be available.
An ultra-efficient 1.3-litre diesel engine is planned for early next year and is expected to emit just 109g/km of CO2 and do 67.3 miles on every gallon of fuel.
The new Suzuki Swift will go on sale this Autumn. More pictures are expected to be released later this month but we'll have to wait until late summer for prices and trim levels.
