There's a crop of new motors getting ready to hit our streets. Which are the top five most eagerly anticipated cars to wear the new plate? Here are our choices:

1. BMW 1-Series
The new 1-Series offers an improved drive and more efficient 116i and 118i petrol plus slightly revised diesel engine options delivering more low rev torque and better CO2 emissions. Prices start from £19,375.

2. Range Rover Evoque
Billed as the ultimate crossover, the Evoque is a fashion statement for image conscious motorists. But high ground clearance, four-wheel drive and a full menu of selectable off-road assist technology makes this a serious tool. Prices are competitive too, starting at £27,995.

3. Golf Cabriolet
Another car set to be a firm favourite among the fashionistas. Stylish and sleek, with superb build quality and a guaranteed good residual value, the Cabriolet is bound to be one of this season's big hitters. Prices start from £20,605.

4. Vauxhall Astra GTC
Due to debut at September's Frankfurt Motorshow and in the UK next June, Vauxhall claims it'll out-handle anything else in its class. Early pictures are promising as, with aggressive LED eye-brow front lights, 21-inch alloys and a low slung sleek body which seats five passengers in comfort, the GTC looks like it will deliver.

5. Morgan 3 Wheeler
With a simple 115bhp V-twin motorcycle engine coupled to a chassis weighing just 500kgs, 0-60 comes up in 4.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 110mph. Despite a price tag of £30,000 Morgan has taken at least 500 orders already.
