Some of the world's oldest cars made the epic journey from London down to Brighton this weekend, despite torrential rain and unfavourable driving conditions.

It was anything but a jolly jaunt to the coast in the sun for the 500-plus pre-1904 vehicles that set off from Hyde Park in the early hours of Sunday morning, but spirits remained high along the route.

Some notable names were among the participants, with Stirling Moss taking the wheel of one of the slower cars he has driven - a 1903 Panhard et Lavassor. Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason's 1901 Panhard et Lavassor was also on the line-up.
