We've had some cracking cars revealed at this year's motorshows, contender for hottest launch of the year being battled between BMW, Aston Martin and Lamborghini.
It all kicked off at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March when Lamborghini launched its Murcielago LP670 Super Veloce with its 670bhp 6.5-litre V12, good for a 212mph top speed, making it the fastest Lamborghini ever built.
Fast forward to July and Aston Martin unveiled its sensational million-pound One-77 at Salon Prive. With a 7.3-litre V12 engine developing "between 700bhp and 750bhp", the car can supposedly top 200mph.
The One-77 was inspired by the DTM race series and features loads of lightweight materials including carbon fibre and hand-rolled aluminium. And it truly is a thing of beauty…
But BMW is also here because it's built a bonkers supercar concept which is one of the greenest high-performance machines on the planet.
The Vision EfficientDynamics Concept is a hybrid supercar with two electric motors and a 1.5-litre three-pot diesel engine that produces 356bhp to give 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds and a 155mph top speed.
And here's the trump card - thanks to its lightweight construction and electric/diesel powertrain, the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept is said to return 75.1mpg and emit just 99g/km of CO2.
