Since the 1890s, car designers have been obsessed with building the fastest, most luxurious, most expensive - or cheapest - and most advanced they can.
From the wooden cars of the late nineteenth century - which were often little more than three- or four-wheeled motorcycles through to the carbon fibre 200mph machines of today, there's certainly been something for everyone.
